Traditional Ink Meets Vibrant Expression
Since childhood, Ms. Yang has been immersed in the world of painting. Drawing upon the profound technical foundations of traditional Chinese ink painting while incorporating the chromatic palette of Western art, she weaves together a vibrant visual aesthetic. Each of her works masterfully fuses the essence of both Eastern and Western artistic traditions; her art transcends the mere depiction of roots, leaves, birds, and flowers to reveal the inseparable bond between artistic expression and the human spirit—a deeply intertwined relationship that engenders values capable of touching the human heart.
Viewers can sense the artist’s rich life experience; her brushstrokes possess a unique elegance and charm, evoking scenes beneath the moon, beside a pond, within a forest, or amidst the mist. She frequently composes short poems to accompany her paintings, giving voice to the emotions embedded within the imagery. Reflecting the vitality evident in her work, she believes that painting must possess a vibrant "spiritual resonance"—a *Qi Yun*—in order to truly resonate with the viewer and deeply move the human heart. She innovatively employs inkjet technology to infuse her works with complex, richly textured atmospheric backgrounds—a technique she had already fully mastered prior to establishing her "Dry Powder Collision" painting method. When paired with her magnificent depictions of flowers and birds, these elements collectively underscore a boundless, inexhaustible vitality.
In addition to devoting herself to the study and practice of painting, Ms. Yang also serves as a university professor. She has held over thirty solo and joint exhibitions across various regions, including the United States, Japan, Malaysia, Australia, South Korea, and her native Taiwan. She is the author of numerous art albums and instructional DVDs published in Chinese, English, and Japanese; furthermore, her artworks have been acquired by countless institutions and private collectors.
Ms. Yang has demonstrated her art works in many countries.
